Named for its first elected governor, William Egan, the Egan Convention Center is the state’s largest meeting and convention center. It has over 40,000 square feet of conference area and is more than a block in length. One of its features is a front wall made entirely of curved glass parallel to Fifth Avenue. The lobby displays native art, including sculptures, beading, and carvings. There is no admission fee for viewing the center. The largest area, Explorers Hall, is conveniently located on the street level and fully accessible to the disabled. Summit Hall is located on the lower level, easily accessible by stairs, escalator, and elevators. The mezzanine houses a board room that can be used for smaller presentations, meetings, or intimate banquets.
